Distribution of Women Executives and Directors by Sector 2010
The majority of women executive officers and directors in Georgia work in companies that are non-technology. According to data from a 2011 study of Georgia public companies by the Atlanta-based Board of Directors Network, 79.2 percent of the women executive officers and 81.3 percent of women directors are in non-technology companies. Technology companies account for 15 percent of the women directors and 13 percent of the women executive officers. Only 3.7 percent of women directors in Georgia are on the boards of bioscience companies, while women executives in bioscience companies account for 7.8 percent of the total women executives.
