The majority of respondents (64.7 percent) to the Technology Decision-Maker survey said their organizations provide training for technology employees. Most of this training was provided through conferences and industry meetings, but the respondents also indicated that training is provided through internal staff and external vendors. While technology training programs are prevalent, only 34 percent of the respondents indicated that they have enacted any other special programs to retain technology talent. Of those who did mention special retention programs, the most frequently mentioned type of programs were compensation-based incentives such as stock options, bonuses and profit-sharing programs.
